Victorian sleep hacks: New article for Videnskab.dk

I was delighted to be asked to contribute a piece on my research on sleep history for the Danish website Videnskab [Research]. In my article, I explore some popular Victorian sleep ‘hacks’ and think about whether or not it is a good idea to have a ‘bedtime snack’. From champagne to electric baths - the Victorians were ready to try anything to get a good night’s sleep!

You can read the piece in English here.

And in Danish here.

I am always happy to discuss writing commissions on the history of sleep - just send me a message via the contact form.
